Home | Domino is the exciting new server task that can run on a Lotus Notes server. The document you are reading is being presented to you by the Domino server at my office. There are many different ways you can use this new technology. Since the internet is a web topography, you may use Domino for a complete site or link to an existing Domino server to enhance a site where you already have a presence. There are many reasons to do this. These include:
- Keep a firewall in place.
- Your present site does not allow any interactivity with the clients.
It is easier to create a form in Notes than in cgi script.
- There may be a routing and approval that needs to take place on forms.
- You would like parts of your site to be more secure than others
- Some people should have different access than others.
- You have a large amount of information that you want on the web like an inventory.
- You would like to use electronic commerce
- You would like to set up an email list for people that have registered at your site.

- You would like to have your site stored at your location and have Notes already installed and connected to the internet. Virtual Consulting can create the database you need to publish on the web.
